Rules of Entry
- The annual ASC Student Heritage Award is for graduating (2026) or recently graduated (2025), cinematography students from U.S. colleges or universities.
- Schools may submit up to 3 qualified students per category:
- Haskell Wexler Documentary Award
- George Spiro Dibie Undergraduate Award
- Tom Houghton Graduate Award
- Project can originate on film or video.
- The applicant must have been the sole cinematographer.
- Qualified students who have previously entered, but have not won in their respective categories are eligible for submission the following year, provided they submit a new film.
- Qualified students who have previously won in the Undergraduate Category are eligible for submission as Graduate Students, provided they submit a new film.
- Submission Deadline is June 4, 2026

Submission MUST include:
1. Completed student application.
2. A brief letter of verification by a cinema faculty member. This letter MUST include a personal verification by the faculty member attesting to the student’s authorship of the submitted work.
3. Resume listing the applicant’s education and work experience.
4. Downloadable link to complete film
a. Film file must not include title sequences featuring the director of photography’s name or school name.
b. Entries must be submitted with their original sound accompaniment.
5. Changes to submissions after the June 4th deadline is not permitted.
Project File Specs:
- Downloadable (Vimeo Link or Google Drive) to Complete Film: file H264 or H265 1920x1080 at 23.98 or 24 fps
- Label File SchoolName_YourLastName_TitleofProject

FAILURE TO MEET ANY OF THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS
WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION
